Teacher, Performer and Student of Hoop Dance, Belly Dance, Yoga and Life! ♥
As a teacher, Lulu's greatest joy is watching her students blossom and shine. She prides herself with creating a safe and loving environment for her students to explore movement in their bodies and discover the beauty within. She balances fun and technique, offering up an environment where both casual and serious students can dance, learn and find joy together
Lulu Levona has been belly dancing since 2002 and sharing her love of the dance with students since 2004. She has learned, performed and taught on both coasts, bringing experience and diversity to the dance.
She is a former founding member of Naya's Trance Belly Dance (Portland, ME).
She holds a MA in French Language and Philosophy from the University of Maine. During her time at the university she was blessed with an opportunity to teach Middle Eastern Dance and direct performances through the Department of Performing Arts and create the UMaine Belly Dancers performance troupe.
In 2008 she embarked on a new journey, moving to California and immersing herself in the study of Hoop Dance and Yoga. Lulu founded the Orange County Hoop Jam group to promote hoop dance in the OC.
Lulu returned to New England in 2012.
She holds a 500hr Hatha Yoga certification from Cloud Nine, through which she was blessed to study with so many amazing teachers.
Lulu continues to broaden her horizons with teacher intensives, workshops and online studies.
